Live Act

E^ST, a.k.a. Melissa Bester, is a young musician from NSW’s Central Coast. After uploading justone track to triple j Unearthed, she piqued the interest of the Australian industry, became the subject of a major-label bidding war, and has subsequently become a verified one-to-watch. Blending urgent beats with nostalgic electro-pop, E^ST has crafted a unique sound perfectly complemented by her stunning, soulful vocals. Debut EP – ‘Old Age’ – was quick to garner significant airplay at triple j, with Dom Alessio calling E^ST ‘one of my favourite discoveries from triple j Unearthed last year’. The 18 year old’s impressive range and songwriting ability is further demonstrated on her follow-up EP, ‘The Alley’. The title track – written in collaboration with Jim Finn from Art vs Science – was a fixture on the triple j hitlist for multiple weeks, and her cover of The Verve’s ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’ for triple j’s Like A Version was lauded as ‘brilliant’ by
local press. In 2015, E^ST embarked on an east coast tour in support of ‘The Alley’, and was invited to play festivals including Beyond the Valley, The Plot, The Hills Are Alive and Hyperfest. E^ST dropped her 3rd EP “Get Money!” in July 2016, the title track once again a triple j favourite and featuring 17 year old Brisbane based newcomer, Mallrat. Having scored support slots for Art vs Science and Lisa Mitchell last year, E^ST secured the very sought after support slot on Twenty One Pilots Australian Tour in early 2016. Her astonishing live show continues to impress, opening for Little May on their national tour in May and Japanese Wallpaper as he tours across Australia in August 2016.
