L-Fresh The Lion

Born and raised in South West Sydney, L-FRESH The LION is one of Australia’s most important Hip Hop artists. From live music venues, stadiums and arenas, to the United Nations Headquarters in New York, his music is a powerful statement which speaks of purpose.
Known for his unwavering strength, forever rising mentality and his ability to move a crowd, L-FRESH has caught the eyes of many across Australia and the world. It was this energy that inspired the Sydney Kings to choose The LION to pen and perform their team song. WE THE KINGS was performed for the first time in 2019 at Qudos Bank Arena in front of a record-breaking NBL crowd of 17,500+ people.

Having always been inspired by his Sikh & Punjabi roots, L-FRESH debuted his anthemic single Born To Stand Out on the MTV Hustle (MTV India) stage for audiences across India. Hungry for more, the show invited him back for the Grand Final episode where he performed fan favourite, 1 in 100,000.
In the time since his ARIA nominated album BECOME was released (2016), L-FRESH The LION has taken his music to the world. Alongside festival appearances all over Australia, he addressed the United Nations Headquarters in New York in late 2018 and shared a stage in London with the youngest-ever Nobel Prize laureate, Pakistani human rights and female education activist Malala Yousafzai. L-FRESH The LION was selected as an ambassador for YouTube’s Creators For Change global initiative, with his resulting video RACI$T / OUR WORLD premiering at the Tribeca TV Festival in New York.

Breaking ground and exceeding expectations is a recurring theme of this South West Sydney artist, having performed alongside hip hop icons such as Nas, Talib Kweli, Dead Prez, and even the legendary Sir Elton John. L-FRESH The LION continues to take things to the next level.
Making no exception during a COVID impacted 2020, L-FRESH The LION released his third studio album, South West. This larger body of work celebrates his hometown, South West Sydney featuring themes of empowerment and sounds representative of the area that raised him, paying tribute to the hard-edged, survive and thrive, underdog mentality that is the heart and soul of South West Sydney.
