Dwelling in the shadows of Melbourne, Pagan have spent their young but exuberant existence building a cult attraction to their wild, ritualistic performances and bittersweet death rock and roll. Whether a slot on renowned festivals like UNIFY, Yours & Owls or BIGSOUND, or national tours playing stadiums with Rise Against, or sweaty club shows with King Parrot and Clowns, Pagan have made a name for themselves with their blistering live show, making an impact on each stage they play.
Pagan – led by Nikki Brumen, with Xavier Santilli on guitar, Dan Bonnici on bass and Matt Marasco on drums – signed with EVP Recordings (Australia) and Hassle Records (UK) and have recently emerged from the catacombs hand in hand with long-time producer and friend, Mike Deslandes (High Tension/Harmony/The Nation Blue) with their to-be-released debut album in tow.
Led by the deafening single ‘Death Before Disco’ – which absolutely must be listened to with the sound up – Pagan’s forthcoming debut album is intricate, deafening and large. They play with such an unstoppable ferocity that they sound not only like a band on a mission, but like a band at full-blown war.
Put simply – “If you haven’t joined the PAGAN cult already, you probably should.” (Hysteria Magazine, 2018)
