Ziggy Alberts is a coastal folk singer/songwriter, free surfer & environmental enthusiast from the East Coast of Australia. Picking up a guitar for the first time in 2011, Ziggy took to storytelling through his music immediately and 5 years on has developed a standout independent career grown initially on busking, house shows and all-ages events, all while living out of a van.
Now touring nationally and internationally with headline shows, accompanied by performances at Falls Festival, Splendour in the Grass (2014, 2015, 2016) and PIKNIK (Norway, 2015) he sings heartfelt stories of personal endeavours and experiences, ocean-side upbringing, environmental issues and life on the road. His music touches young and old alike.
Entirely self-funded and independent, Ziggy has released an impressive 3 records, reaching 11 million Spotify plays, 56 thousand followers on Instagram and consistently appears in the top 10 ‘Singer/Songwriter’ charts on iTunes. Highly anticipated following his hit single ‘Runaway’, Ziggy’s latest record ‘Four Feet In The Forest’ went to no. 1 in the singer songwriter charts and proves to be a favourite compilation by many of his listeners.
Ziggy has achieved a huge grassroots following that spreads through cities, regional communities and coastal towns built over the last 4 years of being on tour. Ziggy announced his June/July 16 ‘Four Feet In The Forest Tour’ where he played sold out shows at The Corner Hotel Melbourne, Max Watts Sydney & Brisbane, The Gov Adelaide and The Rosemount Hotel Perth, finishing with a packed out performance at this year’s Splendour In The Grass.
